Please forgive what are probably noobie questions, but I would welcome knowledgeable help.
I have a new Atlas SD24 Silver edition that I'd like to convert to DCC and sound. This is also my first conversion unit.
I'm thinking a Tsunami board for sound with two speakers as the frame is ready for such...though I'm also interested in the QSI unit as well. Which is most appropriate for accurate sound replication? Where should I get the speakers and what size will I need? I'll be getting the NCE controller as well. Any direction and recommendations are quite welcomed. TIA Roger

Roger, it might take a little work, and some removal of metal, but you can do it. I've never been in a SD24/26 so I can't say, but I've put PLENTY of Tsunami's in Atlas units and I do this.
Remove the weight that holds the two speakers. Purchase a "Railmaster Hobbies" ported speaker, you want the medium for a hood unit. The speaker will set on the rear truck itself Install the tsunami in the typical location remove the ears off the Railmaster speaker Test fit the shell, you might have to sand down the numberboard/headlight plastic to fit.
After that, you get a TOP QUALITY sound and a good running engine!
