Very Nice, Josh! What compromises did you have to make?

PW GP38-2's: 2600 gallon fuel tank PW 2006, 2007, 2008 - late GP38-2 - corrugated grills, anticlimber - 88' nose, angled PAF box PW 2009 - late GP38-2 - corrugated grills, anticlimber - 88' nose, angled PAF box, no d/b
For 2006-2008: - Could use a late model GP38-2 Athearn - add 88's nose and anticlimber. - Could use a P2K, think the PAF box would need to be swapped out for a Canon angled PAF box - Would use the Atlas GP38-2 - has the right details already
PW GP38-3's: 2600 gallon fuel tank PW 2010 - rebuilt late GP38 - diamond mesh grills, no anticlimber - 81' nose, Square PAF box cut into extended dynamic brake. PW 2010 - rebuilt late GP38 - diamond mesh grills, no anticlimber - 81' nose, Square PAF box, small dynamic brake.
Here - an Atlas late GP38 would be my choice.
Regards, Brian

Brian pretty much nailed it. The anti-climbers are wrong, and with that kind of exposes the tops of the ditch lights on the front., and its too bulky on the rear. The air filter box should be an angled one, the rear grills should be corrugated.
This unit only has basic details, so no lift rings, no grabs, it should have an oil reservoir tank on the rear of the fuel tank, ect, ect...
Still, I think it turned out good for the basic detail. The customer will most likely be back with a 2nd unit to model 2006, modern details, but old white & orange paint.

Very nicely done.
The real 2008 just got re-painted and the P&W shops in Plainfield not to long ago.
The old parallelogram is a fan favorite, around these parts. They especially look good on the GP38's.
Thanks Matt

Did they change the scheme at all?

Did they change the scheme at all? Nope, same scheme. I can't remeber the number, but one of the GP38's has no exhaust stacks, just round holes cut into the top of the hood.

Got a photo by e-mail. Not a bad re-paint. This unit could be up-dated with some white numberboards.
#2008 has the round hole vice a real exhaust.
