Myself and a friend are getting ready to tackle a couple GP7/9 chop nose rebuilds that served life on the CERA/CIND in Indiana. Today those engines are all gone. My question, Does anyone make a Chop nose (flat top, not slanted) cab and nose for the GP7/9?
I'm not too interested in bashing it all together and would like to find the cab and nose already. Just curious if anyone knew.
Thanks
Matt

I think Kaslo Shops makes a kit for the choped nose and the cab face windows ment for the Proto 2000 GP7 / 9.

Mike,
I haven't seen a kit from kaslo for that, however C&P Shops released a kit a couple of years ago. The only problem is the owner had some health issues and stopped producing them.
I'm working on a low nose kit for the Proto GP7/9 with a Santa Fe style Topeka cab. I am also considering building a window insert for the Proto models for those wanting to model the round cab as well.
Matt-the one I am going to produce will be a flat nose, just FYI.

In the modeling hobby, a lot of resin casters get sick. Maybe the fumes?

Randy,
I think you nailed it. Most people don't even have a clue on how hazardous resin chemicals are. It should always be top priority for someones health and safety.

Whoever does make those, could really turn a buck, since flat-top chops are everywhere!

I just use the stock P2K nose and break out a razor saw. A decent cab can be obtained from Atlas as the SD24 low-nose cab... you're on your own as far as windshields go, but it's a good looking cab.
