Anybody got a source for miniature terminal connectors (ring terminals, spade terminals, etc.) for 28-32 gauge wire?

Hmmm...I'm not finding anything in the DigiKey catalog that is smaller than 26 ga, except for one possible ring connector that you'd have to buy a 1,000 of to even get one. Mouser or Jameco might have something, but I don't know. It almost might be easier to solder a larger lead to what ever it is you're connecting, and then look for connectors in the larger sizes. What are you connecting?

There are a few sources, also try Newark and Jameco.
I have used the 22-30awg connectors and I simply strip about 3 times the wire off and then fold the wire over on itself 2 or 3 times and insert. It will help hold it.
Also, I highly suggest a nice set of LINEMAN pliers. They are worth their weight in GOLD. I have a pair of Klein (most of my electrical stuff is Klein).

Thanks for the help, Matt, Digikey seems to be a good source, but the quantity break is a little more than I need. Kevin, I am repairing and re-motoring an Alco DL105 which uses a screw connection on the top of each of the gear boxes. Overland used small ring terminals on the original wiring and I am trying to duplicate that. Push comes to shove, I will just tin the wire and wrap it around the screw to make the connection.

Robert.....had you asked oh about 5 months ago, I could have helped you!
Why not make your own? Out of stock? Doesn't have to be super pretty, but you can drill the screw hole, and cut the rest out with stock cutters and bend the wire end over and crimp it. Then solder the wire in there. I did this years ago when I did DCC installs. Worked well too. Didn't look bad either. I used some liquid mask on it once it cooled from the soldering job and it worked well.

Robert.....had you asked oh about 5 months ago, I could have helped you! That's me all over....day late and dollar short! I have made those in the past with a piece of brass flat stock, drill two holes, solder wire to one, screw through the other one. Looks crude, but works. I was trying to make the job look good, seeing as how I was being compensated for it!

I understand that. I've done more digging, but I can't find anything that small for that purpose. I just placed a large order with Jameco and even inquired about it for you, it was no luck.

One other possibility, and I think it is a good one, actually. Make your own!
Take some of those Athearn contact strips from the Blue Box units (Don't we all have some?) or some brass strip, drill a hole large enough to clear the screw you are mounting to the motor with, and solder the wires from the decoder or pickups or whatever, to the metal strip. Screw the metal strip to the motor and that will hopefully take care of things for you!
Hopefully this helps?

Which is sad, because I'm turning 30 this month. Does this mean I'm old.
(Please say no, please say no, please say no...)

I further inquired to my source on this just tonight and he said "I have no clue if I still have any or not in those boxes". He then said "just use flat stock!" then i told him the rest of the story.
He didn't know the original source for them, as they are all from over seas.
