What a Great set-up (Kudos to Raymond!) for photographing your work! My brother never built anything for me, he was too busy busting up my stuff. What is the size of your diorama and will it be (or is it already) part of a permanent layout? Thanks for sharing it with us, David

What is the size of your diorama and will it be (or is it already) part of a permanent layout? Thanks for sharing it with us, David Thanks so much for the comments! My brother Raymond built the diorama, I did the lighting and photography. I will pass the comments on to my brother also! The set up is his that he built so we could have something to photograph on. I'm not sure on the size of it. I would say some where around 4' x 3' pretty close anyway. it doas not go to any lay out yet, but I believe he rigged it up where it could be built into one. He would never just build one for me, LOL! Just for kicks and giggles, doas anyone notice anything odd about one of the second generation units in this set of photos? If anyone can spot what I'm drilling at, I'll post some photos of the particular unit in question! I saw where another member pulled a chain like this with a Gevo. Oh yes, we have great dispatchers and crews!

Yer blind I tells ya! I saw the short hood. Very shadowed, with just the tip of the nose visible at first glance.

David am I going blind or is there no short hood on the ex Santa Fe unit?? i think i am losing my mind I would like to see more of 7674, love the built out cab! Na, like John says, yer going blind! It's there. No photos of it yet, It's in the shop for repairs from a real life blonder. It took a nasty spill when a family member was looking at it sometime ago. I had to build a new rear pilot, so when it's done it'll resemble the effects of wreck damage. The 7674 was what I was referring to Jeff, so your the lucky one. It will be a few days be for I can shoot some better pics of it. I built it not long after Atlas released the 38s. I want to build a better one using a Cannon High Hood modified for the extension. Much like Brian Banna made plans for. If I had not got in a hurry with the 7674, I could have done a much better job. It's based on the former PRSL/CR units. Hints the ex CR road number 7674.

The front jumper cable appears to be improperly stowed on the 7674. Should be up out of the way of the drawbar in its receptacle.

Robert I've seen much worse. Best one I ever had was our Division Roadforman jump me because the MU cable was laid over the first stanchion and then the MU hoses weren't in the pockets aka behind the plow. That was the only time I ever saw it like that and DIDN'T correct it. LOL I worked in a terminal that was 90% locals. We had one engineer place the connector and line into the open knuckle and later couple into it. Best ones are when the engineer lets a conductor unhook the engines and they fail to unhook the MU cable and chains.

Very nice variety to your locomotive fleet...I like! My freelance RR is the same, when I painted my first unit I decided on a different name and ended up stripping it and starting over...so there is going to be a variety to my fleet in the end as several freight cars and locomotives are patched or painted in the old scheme...just makes everything look more real and adds a nice variety!

The front jumper cable appears to be improperly stowed on the 7674. Thanks for the feed back fellas! BTW Jeff-I haven't had any time to shoot some better photos of the GP38 7674, but it's here for me to do so when I get the chance. On the subject of the MU cables. I had a comment on this photo belowe on RRPAs and noticed the MU cable on this C30 from this day. Not often that you see where some one has got lazy and only put one end back. ~DJS~

Very nice variety to your locomotive fleet...I like! My freelance RR is the same. When you say the same, I assume you mean as in the variety or the same road name? Thanks for looking! I'm glad you guys like it... and yes, I like variety my self. Todays railroading doesn't offer much compared to years past as we all know! ~DJS~
