I finally finished my buddy Joe's Broadway Limited SD40-2. It has Soundtraxx Tsunami installed and a very nice custom cab interior with a superb weathering job. I asked if I could use this engine as "test bed" for placing a working rotary beacon in it. After a little frustration and lots of paitence, it works. Eventually I will be adding a tutorial on my website on how to do this. I hope you enjoy.

Perry, the beacon is really good. I found myself watching the reflection off the roof as much as the light itself. Great job.

I would be disappointed to find out that Perry didn't ALREADY have HO scale police cars with working chase and takedown lights!! ;D

I took the video on Ken Patterson's layout last weekend. And yes, I am working on an HO Police car with working lights too...guess I had to have one but I don't have any idea why? Perry

I have to say that thing is amazing Perry, the sound makes me feel just like I am standing next to an SD40-2 at work....Not that they come around much anymore and never in Jenks blue!!

Man, I can see that on some good ole BN green, but would suffice for some warbonnet yellow too ;D

Very nice work there. I just (finally) got 2 of my beacons to light up, but with only 1 bulb. Did you do this with individual plastic light filaments that you thinned out? Looks pretty 'Micro'. I can't wait until the video that demonstrates the process.
