To mount the motor in place, It easy like 1-2-3. ;D I removed the two rubber mount for the motor. In the bottom of the frame, i have putted a little piece of foam ( foam came in athearn BB Box) and I just sited the motor in place on the foam and it hold it self in place with the weight in place In this photo the styrene is flush with the bottom. Here the motor is held in place by the weight. No vibration noice at all. I have about 8 engines done that way and they run like other one.

Interesting, I was under the impression the motor stuck out at the bottom a little.
Great work! looking forward to seeing that GSLD unit.

I always wondered how to mount the switcher truck in a Geep frame. Thanks. I was thinking about how to do an EMD RS1325. They built two for the Chicago and Illinois Midland. These units have a GP 18/20 cab and low nose, but have a switcher long hood. They ride on Flexi-Coil trucks. This would be a neat oddball that no one has done.

This is one big effort, I'd like to see the finished product.

That looks incredible! I like the small fuel tank. It makes me think of the ones stuck under the Tex-Mex GP's.

*bump*
Can you share how you did the fishbelly frame? I'd like to know because the some of BN GPs I'm doing had smaller 1200 and 800 gallon tanks.
