Does anyone know the measurements for the fixed drop steps on EMD locomotives?? I'm working on a GP38-2 that has a rear fixed drop step and can't figure out the proper size.
What would be a good material to make it from. I was thinking some photo-etch diamond tread plate, but have trouble cutting it. ANy suggestions on that??
THANKS!!!

I can't help with the drop step measurements, in regard to cutting the tread plate I use my trusty xacto knife with multiple passes.

Not sure on the measurements but I use a pair of photo etch snips to cut this sort of thing. Basically the are small tin snips and cut this type of material very easily and cleanly.

I did realize that after I looked at the treadplate set more thoroughly. I had yet to install it, and just set it aside without going over it fully.
I got so aggravated after the project went south, I just tossed the remaining parts into the box and shoved it onto the shelf for completion once I return from vacation and re-order all the parts that got destroyed.
