As some of you know, I occasionally do a few things to put on the 'bay. This is one such project. This is a Kato GP35 that is being rebuilt to match Milwaukee Road 1502. The fuel tank and truck frames are finished and painted and weathered. This is a photo of the body with lift rings installed, primed and Milw orange sprayed. I'll post more as I go and hopefully have this thing finished in a week or so. Between this, my caboose project and my Sn2 shay, I've got a few things to keep busy!

I hoped to take a few shots with it being in process, but I got ahead of myself! Anyway, here is the finished loco. It is all Kato except for details like plow, sanding hoses, air hoses, brake cylinder piping, grabs and lift rings, roof mounted electronic bell built from styrene, Cannon and Details West fuel tank details, Kadee couplers. I also cut the triangular frame piece from the walkway and filed and sanded to the proper contour.

I've got a weakness for MILW diesels and this geep looks great! I really like the number board on the side of the DB blister. -Trevor

Thanks ya'll! I really did try to take photos, but the few that I did take weren't that great. The weather outside was lousy and I don't have what I need to take good indoor photos. Or maybe it's just that I don't know what I'm doing!
EBay is a hit or miss thing. The last loco that I sold went for more than I hoped; the one before that, not so good, but I did end up selling it after the auction was over. Who knows; if it doesn't sell, it'll look good in the display case and possibly try again in the fall.
I've always been the type of person that needs to finish a project once its started, otherwise it may never get finished. Just look at my CofG caboose! Just a few more hours and its done but I can't get motivated to do it. Being like that means that I don't have a lot of unfinished projects. That's a good thing!
Thanks again for the compliments.

That is SWEEEEET, looks great and the weathering is on the nuts....Does anyone know when the GP35's went off the roster, sure would be a good looking engine sandwiched between a couple of Katy Geeps on the HCX!

Scott - Thanks! You are right; it would look good between a couple of MKT geeps. Of course, dang near anything would good between a couple of MKT geeps...
This particular loco had an original number of 362, was rebuilt in '80 and sold in '84. I'm not sure when it was renumbered but my guess is the late 60's.

Somewhere deep in the closet is an Athearn GP35 waiting to get done up in MILW, but I will remove the dynamic brake fan from it. And, yeah your model rocks! Bradley

Too bad no one makes the correct phase of GP-35 fot the Milwaukee units. Major differences in the sidesill layout, and much thinner. The late-phase GP-35 sidesill looks similar to the 40 series.
