I recently got some Athearn Genesis Ditchlights and bulbs. I was going to put the lights in my Athearn BB GP40-2. I was wondering what would i have to do in order for the lights to work.

If you want to use the small bulbs, use the minitronics bulbs, they are sold in the walthers cat and most hobby shops. Then today most decoders have a 1.5v pad on them. You will have to go that route, or use resistors. Now, There is also a bulb made by Model Power (yes MODEL POWER)... I've used them since 1999, and have NEVER yet had one blow out, burn out or anything odd. Some of my power has spent many MANY hours running with the lights on. These you get in 14v versions, and they will work, plus they don't get overly hot, so there isn't an issue. Are you using DCC? If so, then do the decoder route and get one with 1.5v outputs. Also, if your DC route, then get the 14v bulbs!
