Ok guys,
In looking at pictures of the fuel tank for my SDP40 project I have come to realize that the Kato version is a pile and needs replaced. My question is, what do I replace it with? I asked on the GN board and it is confirmed that it is a 4000 gallon tank. The tank will need to be mounted to an existing SD40/45 Kato frame and I have limited machining abilities. (I can take stuff off but will not really be able to add anything, no dyes or tapping) I like the looks of the Railflyer models. I know it is a split tank which I have no problem doing the detail work too I just need a good place to start. Anyone have any suggestions for a good 4000 gallon tank?
Thanks Guys!!

The standard SD40 tank is 4000 gallons. Just add extra detailing to the fuel tank, and you should have an SDP40 tank.

Which one of the Railflyer tanks do you think is the best match?

Yeah i figured i was going to do some remodeling, nothing some strip styrene and Cannon parts can't solve. Did you noitce how far back the other fuel filler is? There is one on both sides of the unit at the rear under the steam generator.
