Have plans ever been published of this loco? I'm thinking of doing a kitbash using an RS11 as a starting point.

GE's UD18 were a precursor for their U25B. There were 10 of them produced from June to November 1956. They all went to the Nacionales de Mexico (NdeM) where they carried road numbers 8000-8009. I've been able to find only one photo on-line (so far) of these units. But, if you have a copy of Greg McDonnells book "U-Boats", there are a couple of color photos and a brief description of them on page 11. Heres that photo. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=333593If anybody can find more, lets see them. Dan

Krobar,
I've got a old "All-Time Index" put out by Wayner Publications that covers MR, RMC, Trains and Railroad magazines from 1929-1969. It shows that a set of plans for this loco were in the Sept. 1956 RMC on page 67. I could not verify this, as my RMC collection only goes back to 1966. Maybe someone else can check this out for you?

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'll have to keep a look out for old RMCs at train shows and on ebay for that issue. I'll also have to find a copy of GE loco book.
