I've not posted on here in a while but I've still been modelling. CP Rail 7035 was built as an S2 but acquired a set of AAR trucks from an S3. I originally painted this Atlas S2 in the 1990s using Tamiya paint and CDS dry print transfers. Over the years the paint got worn an the lettering cracked. During 2020 when I couldn't go out much due to covid I stripped it and redid it as CP Rail 7035 which was built as an S2 but acquired a set of AAR trucks from an S3. I needed to swap the side frames as both had cracked at the screw hole, I'd got a set of AARs in my stash Paint is VW Mars Red over oxide primer with a dark wash to pop the details, letting is Microscale decals flic.kr/p/2kP6ENb

Nice work, Nick, I have a soft spot for those Alco switchers.

I've just ordered a new run Atlas S4 in CP Rail. Will renumber it for one of the Vermont S2's, probably 7098. While they, too, got AAR switcher trucks in their latter days, I'm trying to get some S2 sideframes from Atlas since I apparently missed the last run of S2's.
Also working on a batch of NYC S2/4's I used to watch working Weehawken yard in the mid to late 60's, all ex-P&LE. Three of the ones I'm modeling had their access door louvers reworked by P&LE, while two remained stock. They all had m.u. added, too.
Is your "VW Mars red" paint a model paint, or is it actually VW paint? ~ Walt

Today I managed to acquire the last set of Blunt sideframes Atlas had, so the CP 7098 project will be getting off the ground tomorrow when the engine gets here. Already have decals, class lights, and touchup paint.
