I'm guilty of living in the past. In the past there were no video games, no cell phones, no internet. We lived our lives with music. Music was a major part of our lives. We could go out and wander about and have fun without our parents worrying about us. We would play and listen to music. Once grown our car became an important part of our lives, and our car had to have music...sweet music! Nowadays we have 200 channels on the television, our children are raised by our television with what the powers that be planting visions of what life should be into their heads instead of responsible parents doing it like they should. There is no music in our lives anymore, just a bunch of gobbltygook. Pardon me while I live in the past....or come with me for a few moments, and live in the past, a much solvent and simpler past.

Ah Randy, your parents said the same thing about your music. Just a generational thing. My daughter thinks my 80's music sucks. I thought my parents music sucked, they thought the same of mine...LOL
I remember life pre internet, pre cell phones, and I remember the video game revolution (not old enough to remember much before it). I'm talking PONG and first generation Atari. I remember my first prize thing as a kid was my radio! I remember before we had CD's, sorry can't recall the days pre TAPE.
Like my grandmother said to me, she said its just your generation and then the next and so on. We view it differently every year that slides by.

Gee...I wasn't talking about music as being bad, (although I will never consider Rap to be music) I was talking about the state of our standard of living as compared to the simpler times when we didn't even have to lock our doors.

Gee...I wasn't talking about music as being bad, (although I will never consider Rap to be music) I was talking about the state of our standard of living as compared to the simpler times when we didn't even have to lock our doors. We talked about this the other day. You also didn't have world wide media in your face 24/7.... School shootings happened, you just didn't hear about it. My former town had a school shooting when my mother was in school, killed a couple teachers and so forth, never made news outside the area! An example. What are locks? LOL, I'm being funny tonight. I will agree, much has changed, how we go about every day life is much different. I remember looking for pay phones on nights when I was out and couldn't make curfew! Try finding one of those now. Gas was under a BUCK when I started driving. I think I paid .89 a gallon for my first tank! (Yes Randy, I know that wasn't cheap!!!!) LOL

I can remember paying 5 bucks for a tank full of gas,but that was many, many, moons ago,new car was 3200,or less depending on the model you picked.I have to agree with Randy I can't stand rap either but I do like a lot of different styles of music.
Society has changed so fast that we barely have time to see what's going on around us whether it's good or bad before it's changing again and where is it all headed I wish I knew but I do hope someday it will be for the betterment of all.

"The youth of today love luxury; they have bad manners and contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Youth are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up food at the table, and tyrannize their teachers."
-Socrates; a real long time ago... I'm only 40 and I'm feeling it too!!! Those little brats! They don't know music!
