Good Afternoon everyone,
I was wondering with all the new companies coming in and out of stock or the less specialized ones that have a current stock, whats the best metal wheel-sets out there for rolling stock? What do you think is the easiest to get? (i.e in stock as opposed to waiting for runs - depending on how impatient i am ROFL!) and I'm not thinking Proto:87 at the moment either. Just curious as I'm thinking of setting some standards for my equipment.

I have tried a few different brands but have settled on Intermountain. Although not always available, I have found them to be the smoothest rolling with their needlepoint ends. If you can, buy them in bulk as they are a bit cheaper, just not in a fancy package.

I have a mix of Kadee, Intermountain and Reboxx and have no problems with any of those.

What your road has Standards. Lol couldn't resist. Hahahha well said! And yes given the fact the my track oxidizes pretty quickly. There's lots of dust/debris and all that make electrical conductivity a little unreliable I wanted to at least get good wheels to help improve some reliability. Thanks for the suggestions! Ill have to look into them. I couldn't remeber the names night but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Arrowhead models ones? And also thank you for the Kadee suggestion I didn't know they did wheels but really like how they got the fluting on the back of the wheel too. I know that might not fit modern times but is still cool! For the moment I just am testing out a set for my 3D printed Uni-Truck so won't need a lot... yet ;-P

If you can, buy them in bulk as they are a bit cheaper, just not in a fancy package. Ive more or less standardized on Intermountain as well though I do have a few other random brands on some cars. They seem to roll the smoothest and I've never really had any issues with them being out of gauge. They Are a bit more expensive so bulk packs are the way to go.
