I am trying to figure out what brand of silver color paint is better. I am finishing a SF SD75M and want to make sure the fuel tank paint is not marked with finger natural skin oils when manipulating the locomtive for servicing, etc.
Have Floquil Old Silver, Floquil Bright Silver, Scalecoat II Silver and Tamiya Flat Aluminum, but Tamiya metalic colors leave a grainy finish though.
Any one had tried these brands?
Thank you in advance,
Joe

Kiro have used several if scalecoat 1 & 2 older paints before they were bought out and no problems with any of them.
Still have them just mix them up every couple of months and add a touch of thinner as needed.
My 2 cents worth

Mr. Color Silver #8 thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner. I generally shoot it at around 12-15 PSI.
