This isnt exactly about engines, but vehicles. What color works best for the amber lens used for turn signals and running lights on trucks? P

I use the Tamiya clear colors for vehicles. I usually paint area silver first and then coat with either the x-26 clear orange or X-27 clear red

Model Master in their automotive color range makes a color called Turn Signal Amber.
Might just work for what you need!!!! I use it on both HO scale and 1/25 scale automotive models (when I need a change of pace from locos), and it works great.

Just to add a tip if I may...paint whatever surface with silver first, then paint it with Tamiya Clear Orange and it gives you a very believable lens.
