Hi crew-just wondering what it would take to turn a Kato Sd 38-2 into one of the CN 1650-1653 units,ex Northern Alberta. I know about the headlights, classlights and snow shields;anything else major needs to change? I've noticed some variation in the fans as well..... Thanks, Anthony (And Have a Merry Christmas too.)

You seem to have covered most of the bases. Other than those, there are a few other major details.
-small fuel tank -vertical stepwells and end handrails -and of course the most important feature of any Canadian GMD-built locomotive, the over-hung bell.

I will be building the same engine. Kato SD38-2 is my plan as well, I got a genesis GP38-2W which I will harvest for parts, the short fuel tank the long hood as well as the front and rear decks with steps.
