I would start with pictures of the prototype.. www.locophotos.com/Search.phpDecide what year you wish to model the loco in (as details change through the years), then see what parts your missing on the model and start looking to see if these parts are available.. If you are not sure what the name of a part is please ask. I would start looking with ebay and then local hobby shops then online shops.. The amount of detail is up to you..

In Germany are four or five online stores with US model trains and the stores have only some detail parts in storage. I bought a replacement handrail set. I like to add a S3LR horn, a Conrail cab signal box, wind shield wipers, the correct plow, piping for the break cylinders, at the back o f the loco the part around the MU hoses is missing, ....
