This is an N scale GP16 that I bashed about 5 years ago. Chopped the nose, separate grabs, lift rings, etc. I did not modify the battery boxes because I didn't want to do handrails (I hate doing handrails, especially in N scale!). This scheme has always been a favorite of mine. Yeah, I know it's plain, but I like it! Does anyone know where I can find these decals for HO? The Microscale number is 87-397. I have several N sets, but no HO. Thanks!

Great job Chuck!! I have only chopped one geep so far (P2K) and that was a pain in HO, I can only imagine what it must have been like in N, I don't think my eyes could handle the strain.....even with my contacts in ;D

Nice looking model. Not having seen the chassis of one of these I am assuming you had to cut down some of the metal weight inside the short hood - was it a fairly easy thing to do?

Chris - The N scale Atlas chassis does not need a whole lot of work on it to fit underneath a chopped nose. The light board needed to be removed and I then used a file to get the chassis where it needed to be. Needless to say, the loco does not have lights!

Thanks Robert and Greg! This is one of those after-I-sold-it things I wish I had back...
