What is a good bonding agent for mounting a Plano GP38 fan plate to my athearn gp38-2.
Heard something about barge cement and MEK mixture.
If so what would the percentage of barge to MEK be as I've never used it before.
The Plano parts are really nice.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

I use a 50/50 mix of Barge and MEK. Clean the PE part with MEK, apply the mixture to the PE and put it in position. Flow a very small amount of MEK around the edge of the PE/plastic joint (I use a Touch-n-Flow applicator), which will bond the barge to the plastic. Let it cure overnight.
Make sure the PE part is flat. I use a wooden dowel to roll out any curve in the PE.

Okay stupid question #2
All I can find around here is MEK Substitute what is the difference as the persons at several stores said it dries slower.
Will this still work as well as the actual MEK.
Sorry for all the stupid questions just trying to get with the times i got my barge cement in a blue tube at Ace Hardware.

It might work out in your favor and give you more time to correctly position the part. I'd give it a shot.

Thanks EMDX,ICG H, just didn't want to ruin all the effort put into this beast.
By screwing it up before painting it.
