Here is a Z gauge Micro-Trains GP35 that I did a few years back. It started out as a Conrail unit, I stripped the paint, cut out the dynamic brake section and replaced with styrene strips, removed the turbo stack from the original piece and sanded thinner to reapply to the new non-dynamic hatch. I then painted it using Polly Scale paint and found that N scale MicroScale RI boxcar decals were the correct size! I finally built pilots to body mount couplers (to get rid of the truck mounted ones). The bell is a cut down N scale horn with a styrene bracket.

That is some amazing work!!! Z scale is really small, and is hard as heck to paint a southern locomotive for!

Wow, Chuck, that is amazing detail and paint work on that "Rock" unit! Makes my eyeballs burn just to think about the effort you put down. You got some mad skills, brother! And Andrew, I gotta hand out the kudos to you for even thinking about doing Southern green on anything smaller than HO, much less actually DOING it. Both of you guys are unbelievable craftsmen!

Thanks ya'll! I tend to model whatever strikes my fancy. I have built tons of narrow gauge stuff (mostly On3 and HOn3) and now I'm mostly into standard gauge. Who knows; someday, I may do the narrow stuff again! Hmmm, I do still have some kits around here somewhere...
If it weren't for a good 'ol pair of reading glasses, I'm not sure half of the stuff would ever get finished!
Andrew - That is GREAT work on the MT shells. That is a scheme that is not easy to do in any scale. Good job!
