Two early switchers are under construction - scale is 1/29 (as usual). Both units are a mix of scratchbuilt and kitbash. GE #8835 of 1923 Rebuilt with a new power plant from an early GE-unit it has an odd round front end. sbiii.com/boxjfcpx/jcageir2/8835a.jpgA GE 44t-chassis and a box car will be used as baseline parts RI #10000 of 1930 - a two-power switcher running strictly from batteries, recharged by a 300hp diesel (similar to NYC's DES3 which had additional electrical pick-ups making three-power units). Operational area was in LaSalle. digital.denverlibrary.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p15330coll22/id/45533/rec/1A NW2-chassis (although the wheel diameter is too small) and a box car will be used as baseline parts Regards Norman

Here you are....at least #8335's basic underframe, shell and roof. The current look of RI #10000 is too ugly and cluttered - it would be embarrassing to post pictures of it Regards Norman

Major respect. I wish I had the imagination to see how to create things from scratch like you are doing here. I can copy well but coming up with an original method is something else. Lyle

Finally #8835's exterior is finshed - although I'm not sure whether I should add the lettering of General Electric, Alco and Ingersoll-Rand which is visible on some of the few protoype's photos. Some improvements on the interior and wiring the front light still have to be done

Thanks for the nice comments, guys!
RI #10000 got its final details and paint (current gloss surface is for the application of decals)
Obviously (as long as one knows the prototype) the wheels' diameter is too small - 36" instead of rather unique (for a diesel-switcher) 44". However, no such wheels were available for the required wheelbase.
Regards Norman

And final pictures of #10000 - the only thing i might change are the wheels...being a bit undersized coming from a NW2
