Humble beginning of a 1/29-model of Rio Grande's M-1 'Prospector' from 1941. Due to use of USA-streamliner shells with Budd-like flutings the model will have the wrong (too big) wavelength of the sides' fluting - I'll try to ignore this fault . The cab -baggage-coach-car received the usual glassfiber nose while the diner - sleeper-observation car got a modified round-end tail. Additionally both cars had mounted full-length lower skirts. New vents as well as exhaust&mufflers were mounted onto the roofs. It took some time to find the correct design of the miffler/exhaust ste-up- both avaialbe models in H0 and 0-scale are definitely wrong. The front end has a steeper slope than the rear end and there's a slot on the rear where the exhaust slightly poke out of. Although both cars were powered I'll haave the cab car fitted with powered trucks only. I slightly reduced Aristo's AAR B-trucks' wheelbase to match that of USA-Trains' streamliner trucks. With some modifications on brakes etc. it will resemble the prototype. Regards Norman

Wow, it already looks great. Projects in that scale are not very frequent. Thanks for sharing!
