Hello from New South Wales, Australia and thank you for accepting my membership. My name is Mark and I’ve been looking at posts in ‘Double D’ for a few years and I’m quite impressed by the fine level of modelling achieved by members and the support and encouragement given by knowledgeable members, so I’ve taken the plunge and joined up.
It was a photo of a then brand new SD60M UP 6085 way back in 1985 that really caught my interest in US and Canadian railways, along with the locomotives I work on being Australian derivatives of the venerable SD40-2. While my primary modelling is Australian, I’ve built up a small fleet of largely Union Pacific locomotives, most of which need a bit of ‘DD’ treatment.
Quite some time back I started to build a model of UP’s 6085 (as the original SD60M was when new) with a RPP body with a Sunset Valley cab, but I’m having a rethink with the RPP shell as the detail leaves a bit to be desired.
I look forward to studying everyone’s work and learning some new techniques which I can apply equally to my Australian and US models.
Regards, Mark.
