Just got back from vacation and while I was gone my new GP40P-2 had arrived, I started with SP 3197 in bicentennial to complete my trio, I plan to get the other 2 soon, any how this was my first Genesis loco so I was excited to lay eyes on it and unpack it, gotta say detail is awesome paint and lettering are crisp with clean lines, all detail is accurate, now for my issue, when I unpacked it the plow was rattling around loose in the box, rear handrail was loose and bent back from the walkway, and one of the cab numberboards was missing, I eventually found it and all 3 were an easy fix, but WTF??? this is a Genesis, supposed to be Athearns top line what kind of quality control was that, this model was in its box shrinkwrapped and in its cardboard sleeve, came to me new, I got a good deal and picked it up for $145 but just the same I was somewhat disappointed with the QC, anyone else have this kind of issue with Athearn Genesis? It is still a nice model, and I'm glad to have it, and I will still get the other 2 when I can, but that left a bad impression for my first Genesis model

Have a Genesis non sound F45 was in Big Sky Blue nice unit but not worth what I paid for it.
Had to replace the marker lights as they came molded into the body not clear parts.
Grills & plow like your plow were free range in the box not enough glue ?.

It isn't that uncommon for such details to come off models, after all they are shipped half way around the world. The manufacturers provide amazing detail now, and with a lot of these details being so small and to scale, there's not much surface for any glue to hold them on. That's kind of the price we have to pay to have all the details applied from the factory. Not to mention how much bouncing around these packages take in trucks being delivered, both from the manufacturers to the docks, then once here in the states how they are handled again. Lots of bumps along the way for the containers and boxes. Even how the packages are tossed around by the local delivery drivers when being sorted out. It's just nice you found all the pieces and were able to get the loco back together. Be sure to post a couple photos when you have all the Bicentennial units together, it would be nice to see them.
