As a contrast to RI #9006 I decided to bash a late RI TA 60x in 1/29 - skirts on the trucks removed, fixed front coupler and simplified paint scheme. As usual the start of the model looks really again - I used an Aristo-Craft FA-un it as a base. Stretching the unit, heavily modifying the nose and a new roof contour were main topics. The trucks need only slight modifications And later... More to follow Regards Norman

Very nice. How did you go about reshaping the nose? I'm itchng to do a project like this (different prototype) but I need to almost completely scratchbuild the nose and I'm not looking forward to it.

mike: Thanks for the compliment... The nose was designed using two horizontal styrene plates with the appropiate shape (taken from a diagram's section), a vertical fin for the ridge of the nose and applying a thin styrene plates as a cover. Some resin putty and a few final thin glass fiber layers made the slightly pointed shape of an early EMD passenger diesel. It works for G-scale and 0-scale, not sure whether H0 would be too small to use such a technique. Current status: And with a pair of revenue cars Regards Norman
