Hey everybody! You may have already seen this Scoular hopper...but hopefully not. The first two pics that are with the proto pics (for comparison) one side was shot on a cloudy day and show the graffiti's color/hues better than the sunny day pics which are a bit washed out. Therefore I shot the first couple model pics on a cloudy day. As you will see, my colors (especially on the weathering) are still not spot-on but that was as good as I could render between the proto pics colors, my computer monitor, printouts and modeling room lighting. Regardless of the errors I am happy with how it turned out...even though it was the wrong model for the prototype altogether. Here is the model I started with: Here is the proto: Model: Proto other side: Model other side: Misc. flicks... Thanks for checking it out!

I'm impressed. You've really captured the look of the prototype. The rust and grime look right to me. Good job.

Nick This is fantastic work. It certainly gives me an enhanced goal to work towards with my experiments in weathering. I also like the realistic effect of your track in the pavement as shown in the last photo. Bob

I think I went a little too deep with the scribe tool on the pavement though. I'm happy you think it still looks good!

That is a fantastic build! How do you accomplish the graffiti? Thanks Dekon! I did the graffiti using heavily thinned acrylic paint and a couple of very fine brushes.

Nick, that is one fantastic model. Everything in your photos including the weathering on the model itself, the scenery backdrop, the street scene all look very prototypical and most of all very believable.

Wow! Very nice! So how did you get into the ends and the slope sheets to do the work in there?

Wow! Very nice! So how did you get into the ends and the slope sheets to do the work in there? Thank you detlef10! I did all the painting/weathering without the end cages on. It being a kit enabled me to do this. I finished both ends, the roof and underside then put on the end cages/roofwalk and finished the sides/end cages.
