I don't own an HO GP50 so my question is: is the GP50's radiator fan hatch the same size and fan spacing as the GP40? I'm thinking the Q fans aren't spaced different and they are the same but I want to make sure. I'm shortening an SD50 radiator to a GP50 and I want to use the Plano 40 series fan hatch.

Thanks Glenn. Hey do you happen to know the what the length of the GP50 radiator section is? Providing that we even have an HO example that's correct lol. I guess the Genesis units would be the best example.

Thanks guys for the help. I think what I need to do is just follow the lines of the real thing. I'm working off of the radiator grill location on the unit I'm building which is KCS 700. These 40X units apparently from what I'm seeing have the same radiator hood dimensions as the GP50 design. Different door arrangement of course. Shortening the SD50 radiator is the most logical way to kitbash this diesel mainly according to the door arrangements on the SD50 being about 75% correct already. I just have to build 3 doors which is a relief because I have 22 engine doors to complete when I'm done prepping the shell for them. I'm going to shorten and finish the radiator first since I have the 3 Cannon 1013 doors to customize. That'll complete the whole transformation of just this section of the unit. Lots of work ahead.
