The March issue of RMC has a product review of a resin Lima Diesel Switcher kit. Is this the only way the kit is offered at almost $200 with drive? Is there body kit available without the drive?

Hello, It look's like a real nice kit. the Drive is a Stewart. The Body is real well done but is a 1000 HP unit. I am re doing the Radiaters on the side to better look like a 1200 HP unit. ( Shorten the thing to the top of the hood doors. And will have to make the side handrails . They give you end rails from a ALCO which are not correct but. I model NH and we had 10 of the little buggers. And will have to fill the bottom cab window's also. Joe did a real nice job. From what I here it runs SWEET. But Mine will be a while before I get it done. Jim Evans

I read that same review, and it appears that they only offer it as a "complete" locomotive. Seems kind of expensive for a locomotive you have to still do a LOT of work to get it right...but it's better than where we were, I suppose!
I know it's a rare prototype, but there are some people in Indiana that they makers should contact about additional paint schemes for their locomotives.....after all, the WhiteWater Valley tourist line uses 2 or 3 of these BLH switchers (former NYC/B&O and Armco) for their tourist train out of Connersville, IN.

On par with Kaslo and some of the others I guess. Model Railroading used to be fun, now it's expensive. LOL!
