Here's a Jordan Spreader I finished building over the summer. It started out as a Walther's kit (the one with the center cab and a high plow in the front. It is numbered 50999 which matches the prototype that was used in Halifax. The main changes I made were cutting the front plow blade down to size and replacing all the wing arms with teloscoping tubing so they can be moved in and out. I'm still waiting for the "ice cutter" part from Steve H on Shapeways so I haven't weathered this yet. And of course it was on the same work train as the flanger over in Truro this fall. dieseldetailer.proboards.com/thread/16324/cn-ak-shops-steel-flanger?page=1&scrollTo=111297

I guess I'd better get that sucker done pretty soon, eh?
:-)
Interesting fact about the scarifier blade I didn't know before I started looking into them. They were often removed in the spring and re-installed in the fall, so they probably wouldn't weather at the same rate as the blade they were mounted on.

I really like this build, nicely done! Tell me about the tank car. Regards, Bobby Thanks! Funny you should ask about the tank car given some of your builds. It started as a cheap tank car (Tyco, Roundhouse or something) I had gotten the decals from a buddy of mine. CN had made a bunch of tank cars for carrying potable water for equipment, people, showers, etc on their work trains. That's what this is. I feel like I have a thread about this car (especially since the photos are already on my Photobucket account) but I can't seem to find the thread.

Thanks for the photos and info. You turned a toy into a very nice model train car.

I like these. They'll serve as inspiration for some MoW gear on my module. Bob
