Hi Guys, I started on this project a long time ago, just haven't posted too much, as posting pics to photo site, and writing stuff up takes time I just haven't had lately. I finially got some pics posted to photo site, so will share some of the stuff I have been working on. I 5 unit set of PC/PRR/NYC F units - 4 F7A's and a F7B. I made my own grabs, and railings bent from .015" wire for each unit. The drives are lowered about .040-.050" to get correct height, have LED headlight with fiber-optic lenses. I also added all the underframe details for the air tank, and plumbing, battery boxes/doors/ and modified the fuel tank so I could take off the skirts. PRR F3 upgraded to F7 specs: This model is built from a P1K F3: I added IM fans, a Genesis DB hatch/fan, numerous DW F unit details, a Genesis passenger pilot. Painted with home brew DGLE and weathered with chalks and airbrush/acylics. Has NCE decoder, and runs really nicely. PC F7A (exPRR 1501): This is a undec Stewart model, with DA lift rings, DW F7 details, a Genesis passenger pilot. NYC F7A: This is a IM undec unit, with Genesis passenger pilot and DW F7 details added. PC F7A (exNYC): This is a IM undec unit. DW F7 details added. PC F7B: This is a undec Stewart model, with DA lift rings, DW F7 details, Used Kadee #33 couplers for close coupling: I will add more as I get more done... Regards, Brian

Question: Does someone make the funky grab like the one with the half loops that are typically on the transition point of the nose? I can make them, but seeing I need about 6 more, I wouldn't mind buying them. Thanks Brian

The grabs I believe Brian (dtinut) is asking about are the ladder grabs, mixed in with the standard grabs. As their name implies, they brace a ladder from falling. They are commonly found on passenger cars as well. Detail Associates and Cal Scale make the part.

How did you lower the mechanisms? It's been bugging me for a while on my two Stewart-powered IM shells.

How did you lower the mechanisms? It's been bugging me for a while on my two Stewart-powered IM shells. I have a mill, and cleaned out the area where the bolster is on the frame, - you also have to mill the area close to the fuel tank, or else the truck cannot pivot over bumps in the track. On units where you want to de-skirt the model, I also mill some of the chassis so you can add in the nicer battery boxes (Hi-Tech) and air tank. I build my own using the existing part, but this is also because I have the mill, it makes it easier to do - without one, I'd get the Hi-Tech parts. This particular chassis doesn't have the details done yet to the fuel tank/battery boxes, but the other five I have done, do. Send me a PM if you are interested. Brian
