Hi,
I'm squiring parts for a CF7 build. I have an RPP kit and bought an Athearn RTR shell that needs work.. One will be Santa Fe and the other is Midsouth. I've been studying pictures and looking at builds on here.. My question is, what horn and stand would be correct and who makes the antenna stand?
Thanks!!
Stuart

Which horn is going to depend on which unit you're modeling. Check online photos - or give us unit number and someone will help. Ant. stand will require some effort. The ATSF Ant.stands stood taller than commercially available parts. IIRC it was easier to fab the whole stand than try to modify DW part.

Quick answer ...Horn appears to be Leslie RS3L. Not sure if detail part is available. Simple bracket could be fabricated with brass tubing (square/rectangle - not round). Made Ant. Stand using styrene - eyeballed dimensions.

Stuart~
On the 2647 that I built, I used the supplied Athearn ground plane and cut off the legs and then soldered wire in place of the original legs to raise the overall height. I planned to flatten the wire with a jewelers hammer to have a more correct profile for the legs, but in the end I just left them round. I used pictures as a guide to eyeball the height, as Wesley stated earlier. I used the DW tall horn stand for my build with a CalScale M3. Your prototype may vary.

Hi guys, Thanks for the input.. Just for a reference, this is what I'm starting with. First is a Rail Power Products CF7 kit and second is an Athearn CF7 shell.. The RPP will be the Santa Fe. So I don't have an antenna stand. I did buy the a/c units and a beacon for the ATSF CF7. Stuart
