A while back someone here built a MoPac slug. I have been trying to find that thread and cannot. I want to get one of the kits to build the slug.
Does anyone remember this thread and where I can find it?

Sam Lloyd made resin bodies of the SL-1. Not sure how you would get in touch with him, though. You might ask Tom if he has his contact info. If you find anything out, I'd be interested to learn myself. I bought one of the kits years ago and built it up on an Athearn SW7 chassis. I also got some parts for a Mopac EV caboose from Sam at that time. I'm curious if he ever did anything further with the caboose parts. Here's my SL-1: www.pbase.com/mecrharris/image/123037039

Sean, yes one of those.
Ryan, yes that is the model I remember seeing. I thought this kit was currently available. To bad. I would have liked to get one. Next time I talk to Tom, I will ask him.

Wow, all this talk of the MoPac slug, made me pull mine out of my stash and move it into the on-deck circle. I was a UP fan but have changed and now do New England roads. I saw a picture of a MP SW1500 and one so now that is what I am going to do. Now I just have to find and undec SW1500 with AAR trucks. I think my LHS had one the last time I was there.

Ryan, I talked to Tom and he knows of or knows of Sam Lloyd. Now I need to see if I can get some contact info and ask him if he has one of these he can part with.
Thanks for the information.

Glad to hear it Brian. I would love to see these shell castings more widely available. He also did a UP SW10 (not that it's in my area of interest, but nicely done nonetheless) which might have a wider appeal than the SL-1. If you don't mind, will you check on those caboose parts for me? I could use them to detail this: www.pbase.com/mecrharris/image/156484261/large.jpg
