Hello I am new to the site. I have a a old atlas\Rocco SD35 Santa fe and I want to convert it to a southern railway high hood and detail it. I have never detailed a locomotive before. I am hoping someone has a parts list or some info on what detail parts to buy. Thanks for any help

Cannon & Co. has the high hood kit. While you are at it, the Roco sub bases didn't have the steps molded in. You might just cut that off too.
Check out the detail parts against photos of one of Southern's. This will give you an idea of what you need. One other thought is to think about how far to take this. The model came out 30-35 years ago, so it is not as well done as some newer runs. Don't worry. The drive is good. If you screw it up, you're not sunk. Have fun, and learn from this.
I mentioned how far to take this. What I mean is that you can base it on what your skill level is. Not just that, but if you will use it frequently, then you may skip some detail. This way more fragile parts won't fall off from handling, or any typical railroad accidents or derailments.

There is a very good clinic by Bob Harpe. It's complete with a parts list and step by step. Bob Harpe SD35 ClinicYou will also want to order a Cannon & CO High Hood kit part number 1101 Cannon & Co cab number 1502 and a Cannon & Co subbase number 1201
