tucker Probationary Member 4 hours ago Quote Hello, I have a question that I believe many NEC modelers have had for many years now; Why hasn't anyone produced the E-44 ? It seems that most all motive power for late 60's thru 80's has been available - very few exceptions; ie boxcabs, p-5a and modifieds. The presents of the E-44 on the Northeast Corridor is only natural during this time period, and with its ancestry being the mighty PRR you would think it would've been considered by now..... Hmmm, is it a difficult model to produce? What factors are preventing manufacturers from getting this much needed locomotive on board? No pun intended. Color schemes ? How can this be since anyone modeling a late 60's thru 80's PRR/PC/CR would want (certainly) more than one unit. And there was the E-50 which were identical and in yet another paint scheme; and not to forget the patch jobs of PC/CR----Amtrak not to be left out ! Desire? Who doesn't desire this handsome bull screaming down Princeton jct. with every fallen flag trailing at 65 mph? I strongly believe it is time to join together as a community of model railroaders and get the message out to the model producing factions that we cannot run "the juice" on the NEC without the E-44 ! And finally, it really should be made in USA. Thank you for taking time to read my post. Tucker « Prev1Next »
