So I am going to be putting a Tsunami in a kato SD70MAC. I need to know what speakers are the best for this. I will probably be putting the speakers in the cab so size can be a little bit bigger than one that would fit in the longhood.
Thanks guys!!

Although I have yet to hear one, I've seen them (Christian has one) and they fit in the body of a diesel well. Shouldn't be an issue either, as many people have installed them. I may do a sound install on the KATO SD40 I just got...shall see, have to get the decoder first.

Thanks for the info guys. Couple questions about those speakers. it says "There speakers are self contained (sealed) and ported." Does that mean they already have a baffle or sould I still have to build one? And what does the ported mean?
I'm at school all day tomorrow (Saturday) so I won't be on tomorrow.....

The Railmaster speaker comes enclosed in its own box, the speaker you don't see it. There is a small hole in the enclosure. This hole means its "ported" and the sound the speaker makes *sound waves* are pushed through the smaller hole in the box and make it louder and deeper sounding! This comes from my days of car audio, you have a larger base speaker and put it in a box and port it, this makes all the sound rush out the small hole. Very solid and long history it is based on. You do nothing more then put the enclosure into the hood and then solder the wires into the decoder. SIMPLE.... I'm going to do a SD40 Kato Tsunami install soon enough... Same speaker and all.

Cool sounds good! I will try those those out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Do any of you know if the wide speaker produces better sound than the narrow one?

When you start using oval speakers you lose some of that because they can't move in the same manner of the round brothers can. But, in our world of tight confines, we have to use them and really we never know the difference!
