Here is another project I'm working on....a Bachmann GP30 in Alaska Railroad delivery. Not completly ready yet, I'm waiting on the parts that dear uncle Walthers should deliver. Maybe not 100% correct in every detail, but I'm satisfied if people recognise the locomotive ;-) best regards Bas

Looks Great. What is the brand and name of the paint you used?
Thanks

hello everbody
thanks :-)
The paint I'm using is from Mr. Hobby, aka Gunze Sangyo. Works very fine in an airbrush, but also applied with a normal brush you get a very goog result. The decals are from Microscale.
Now I'm wainting for the Esu Sounddecoder and details from Cal Scale.
Best regards from the swiss alps

Looks good. I like the addition of the engineer (where's the conductor?). Definitely a detail not often done, of course if we have too many locos with crews they look ridiculous in a trailing position

Thanks Mayor Well...being a train engineer myself for the Swiss federal Railways, I must admit that I forgot the conductor... We are completely alone in the cabine during the ride, and I decided that my 1:87 collegue suffered the same faith ;-) I will see if I can organise a conductor Best regards Bas

Hi Bas, I like what you've done with this GP-30. One small nit to pick; the MU hoses are mounted on the pilot behind the front plow. Your plow has the doors closed which I would surmise to be necessary most of the time on a lead Alaska RR unit. As tall as the plow is, the MU hoses would barely be noticeable if at all on the front of the locomotive. You could probably get by with just removing them from the plow face. Where did you get that engineer? I really like his pose. Very natural'
Regards, Mike

Good morning Mike Thanks for the information...the reason why I mounted the hoses like this is for this picture: www.alaskarails.org/pix/former-loco/UK-2000.htmlIf you take a look at the second picture ( scroll down), you can see that the hoses are mounted on the snowplow. My snowplow is an adapted Alaska snowplow from an F7, but it look good enough for me. This snowplow has no hatches where the hose can be put through. The engineer is a former Swiss engineer. I bought it many years ago when I became a train engineer myself. I "re-dressed" him with a little paint and now he is working for the Alaska Railroad ;-) (well, that is something I would like to do too ;-). ) best regards from the swiss alps Bas
