I've started to kitbash/build 4 British Columbia Railway C425's in HO using the newer release Atlas models. Progress on the models can be found here: www.pbase.com/tsokolan/project_c425-Trevor

3 of them will be painted in the two tone green with the straight white stripe (one of them #804 will have the "high band" variation) while the other one (#812) will be painted in the lightning stripe scheme.

I think the end piece is made out of styrene, all of the Andy W. Scale models parts are transparent, so I primed them before install to make it easier to photograph. The material is easy to sand and drill, although it tends to clog smaller drillbits.

Sorry, here's the link: www.readytrain.com/pages/decals-parts-list.htmlscroll down to find the detail parts. Company owned by Andy Wegmuller, he's the only guy out there that makes BCR specific parts such as the modified Alco air intakes and RS-3 carbody sides. I am using the AWS-17 and AWS-18 parts. -Trevor

Updated the photos as the models are now painted. Decalling has been started and I just got a box from Atlas the other day with some parts for the trucks. www.pbase.com/tsokolan/image/109871025

I guess Pbase doesn't allow photo posting? You would think they would seeing that you have to pay for it. Nice job on those Alcos!

I just tried to attach the photo direct but nothing came up. Pbase should allow it as I've seen guys do it on the Atlas forum. I don't like photobucket or flicker or whatever so I'm sticking with pbase. Sorry guys, you'll just have to make one more click to see the photos.

Here's my version of the brake chain and tube. I used Evergreen 3/64 rod with the ends drilled out to accept 0.10 wire and the funky part that attaches the tube to the loco frame. The funky part came from a Cannon EMD sub base kit, but I did have to build one of them out of square stock and 0.15 wire. The chain is attached to a wire hook on the truck side frame. -Trevor

Very nice! I think these are former Erie Lackawanna units and some of them are still un use today.
