Hello all, I'm finally getting back to a UP GP9 project and will install a Cannon Co. db fan. There are three supports within the base of the shroud. Might someone verify that one of those points to the engineer's side, ie, is at a 90 degree angle with the edge of the db housing? This would mean that one support leg points to three o'clock, the second to seven o'clock, and the third to eleven o'clock when seen from the long hood looking forward.
Thanks for any input!

I'm not sure if the supports are exactly what EMD made, that might be a question for Cannon and Co. I have a couple overhead shots, but with the grill, fan blades and shadows, unfortunately can't see deep enough to answer that question entirely. They all show that the base mounting bolts, are set on either side of the center line, with the top grill bolt lined up with center of the unit

Thanks, Jake...I did get an email response from Dave at Cannon and Co. His data sources indicate that one of the three supports for this piece points to the fireman's side of the unit. I've glued that in and hope to post shots over the course of the next few days to serve as reference for others having that same question. I did have to use Evergreen filler strip given that the (blue box) Proto 2K shell has an oversized hole for the fan. This is a Cannon and Company dynamic brake fan, part number 1854, 48 inch cap top.
