I just received a Loksound Select Micro decoder. The ESU web site says it is a 4 function decoder, but there are only three function wores coming out of it.
1. White wire (front light) 2 Yellow wire (rear light) 3. Green wire (additional funtion #1)
So where is the fourth function?
Is it a solder pad? If so, what pad is it? Is there a diagram showing this pad somewhere?
Also, what is the difference between a Select Micro vs a Micro V4.0. The Micro V4.0 is the same size and has the purple wire 4th function already there. I would have bought the V4.0 if I had known it existed. BUT, the Select Micrs SAYS it is a four function output decoder. SO again, whee is the fourth function wie or pad?
Thanks for any help.

The Select vs. the 4.0 versions of the Micro are the same as the regular sized counterparts. The 4.0 is fully customizable in it's ability to upload individual sounds, add or remove individual sounds and also allows you to play with the decoders complete flow chart. Of course all these extra abilities are a moot point if you don't have a LokProgrammer and associated software on your computer. As for the missing purple wire on the Micro Select, that apparently was the fault of the factory. As it stands, you are going to have to add the purple wire yourself. See the Select manual on page 11 for where to attach the purple wire .... www.esu.eu/en/downloads/instruction-manuals/digital-decoders/Mark.

Mark,
Thanks. I did not know there was a micro V4.0 or I would have opted for that one instead of the Select version. Now I know and the next ones I will get will be the V4.0. Last night I soldered the additional wire to the appropriate pad.
