Can any one help me with what I need to be able to have functioning gyra lights on one of my locomotives. Is it a function already on the decoders or or do I have to buy something else to wire in with decoder to get the lights to brighten and dim like the gyra light, can a regular bulb be used in this case or will I need a dual filament bulb?

Hi SP8315,
Here is a video of a Gyra light install I did on a ICG SD45. This unit has all LED's and a NCE DA-SR decoder. There are many ways to do the Gyra light. There are modules that you can buy and install and run off the decoder. The most important thing is which one looks the best to you. If you have any other questions just ask. Erik

I'm gonna go with either soundtraxx tsu1000 sound decoder or the digitrax sound decoder. Both have four functions for lights just need to know if one of those options operates the gyra light the way they are supposed to operate without adding an extra board to operate it and does one function operate the gyra light or two?

Hi SP8315,
Yes both of those decoders will run the gyrations light like you want. I have the gyrations light at up as the clear and the red lights each on a different function. With the other two functions for the head lights. If it were me I would use the TSU1000 over the Digital sound decoder. You might want to check out the ESU Lok Sound decoders. In my opinion they have better motor control and sounds. Plus they are led friendly.
