Okay, last month I drug out the old box from out back that had all my old builds from "many moons ago", and many of these are from the 80s and before. Of course I'm a NKP fan so that is what they are. I have more "someplace" but right now this is what I've found. Be prepaired to see a lot of pics of old diesels or early attempts at scratch building. First is my Nickel Plate re-powered Baldwin AS-16. NKP had a few of these that were re-powered by EMD, and some that were re-powered by ALCO. This is from an early Stewart Baldwin with an AHM GP-18 hood with scratchbuilt transition. This was made before any articles were published about making one of these. PS: Didn't see the cob webs until I uploaded the pics.

This kind of building is great!!!
It shows the "new" guys what we had to work with back in the "dark ages" before all the "out of the box" and onto the track was available. Alot of sratchbuilt and "make do" kind of building went on back then.
I'll have to dig out some of my oldies and post them.

Would have been nice to see these running at Batavia, IL. @ the old Midwest Modelers club, Bill Darnaby would have loved to have seen these running on a Friday night. I would like to meet Bill Darnaby, I followed his articles in magazines. Once I get the Zanesville Line of R.R.C.&S. up these locomotives will run again. They ran across the old layout mile after mile on the 212 foot mainline.

I would think that those cobwebs would be great in a diorama involving an old engine house with the loke in it--completely untouched---
