I am looking to build an F-unit that was operated by Precision National.
I have only come across one photo of a unit, in black and white.
I know the colors were green and yellow.
Anyone have any photos of these, what seem to me at least, rather rare locos.
I'd like to gather additional information on them before I begin on the project.
THANKS!!

I thought that all these came from the Milwaukee Road and had been scrapped before ever being used. I could be wrong. I believe PNC used most of the F's for components and truck trades.
I've seen pictures of the former MILW units with PRECISION stencil on the side, but they all had remained in MILW paint.

Here is the one photo that I found....obviously not in Milwaukee Paint, and it appears to be in service too. It might not even be an F-7 if you look closely at the details. I believe it might be a Phase IV F-3!! It could also be a mix-up of parts to get one more unit road worthy. www.rr-fallenflags.org/misc-p/pre72ag.jpg

Now that adds some stink to it, doesn't it. I've done more digging and find nothing to add. I'm guessing they used the common color and that is that yellow and green accents that you see, with a small Precision decal on the side.
I'm wondering what details on that engine are railroad specific (spark arrestors) window/louver arrangments, steps and so forth.

I have found out from another member that the colors were yellow and black, not green.
Hard to tell black from green in a B/W photo!
Some time ago, I seen a color photo of one of the repainted F-units, but can no longer locate it anyplace. There might have been more than one and that is where I got the green color from!!

I'll almost bet that that is an ex-Milwaukee Road. the number is right, and the details are too. Icant see for sure because of a shadow, but the biggest MILW trait would be the front lifting rings, which were huge, and really hard to miss.
I have some photos of ex QNSL GP9's that PNC owned, and stored in North Bay, Ontario(The area I model). I have been searching for PNC decals, with no luck--anyone want to hook me up?

PNC decals can be had by Herald King. There is a seller on ebay that has them, or can order them for you. You can also order direct, as I have been told that they are back in print by a new owner. www.heraldkingdecals.com

#72-A is also a MKT Road Number and PNC did receive some of their units as I remember seeing them on teh ICG. This one pictured could be a repainted unit with the original road #.....
