Here some shots of a few things on my roster taken today. First is my atlas C-425 #1003 in NW large letters weathered to have the old gold lettering show through. Nice roster. Are any of your British locos OO scale? I have been curious how a British OO locomotive looks with HO passenger cars... size wise.

The three stream at the end are British, all OO scale and the car to the left in the picture is HO scale, so you can see the comparison there. I mean they are I think 11% larger than scale but with American Locomotives being bigger with loading gauges etc they don't look out of place among the US rolling stock. Here's a couple more pics side by side with them lined up to show that comparison a little better For comparison 00 and HO by dantrh2, on Flickr For comparison 00 and HO by dantrh2, on Flickr

Thanks for the pix. I have been wanting a model of Tornado or the Americanized Flying Scotsman but was concerned about the size of OO. Now I know I can go for it and it won't look bad.

Daniel, That is one sweet piece of work on the CofG baggae car!! I have friday through sunday off work, so I'll upload another shot showing better detail. I feel that shot doesn't do it justice The idea of this car was that it is a support vehicle to the steam locomotives. Post end of steam in the UK all steam run tours etc require the locomotive to have one of these. Modelling the northern states (Ohio lake shore line roughly) this companies scheme would seem odd for the area thus it being a rust bucket dug out in a sale to the owners of the steam to have as this needed support car.

Dave Tornado would make for a good model. I know how bachmann are perceived in the US but in Europe they are a completely different company. If you can get Tornado from them do so, you will not be let down... Hornby is okay but I've never liked them too much, bachmann just do a brilliant job over there which is a shame that it can not be said for here.

I looked into Hornby and was turned off by the oversize flanges and spotty detail. The Bachmann British locomotives look fantastic. Thanks for confirming, always nice to hear another's opinion. Dave

Dave That is exactly why I don't like hornby, the wheels are just terrible... Your welcome Dave!
