Hi All, It's been sometime since I have posted something on here. Anyways, I recently completed this unit, I started with a Highliners shell and Athearn drive. I added LED's to the headlights, numberboards and classlights. A Details West detail kit was also used along with Hi-tech battery box kit. Here is a link to the build process: Soo F7A build processThanks for looking

Gorgeous unit - and pretty sharp photos too.
Any chance you might be able to bump up the ISO speed on your camera and close the aperture a bit for a deeper depth of field? I'll bet that such a combination will make those shots look nearly imperceptible from a 1:1 scale (not to say that they don't do a good job already).

Thank you for you comments. Kurt- thank you for your input. I am pretty much a newb when it comes to photography. I will play with the ISO and aperture settings on my camera. I put this video together so you can hear and see the lights in action. F7 Video

Nice unit!
One needs to use a higher f-stop for more DOF when shooting close up model shots, in order to have the full model in focus. Not so much for the full-on side shots, but for the 3/4 roster-ish shots.

Granted, full-on side shots with scale foregrounds benefit from the deeper DOF too - blurry grass offsets the realism of the model. -Kurt

That would have been a great pic for the January forum logo. I'll do it up for February instead, eh?

Good idea Randy. That unit turned out great, I like the overall scene as well, not many try winter modeling.

Thanks for the nice comments. The Engine was done by Javier Carcano, the Boxcar and Caboose by Gary Christensen, the Bulkhead-Flatcar by Jered Slusser and the Diorama by Stefan Foerg.
