Friday was my birthday. So Saturday to my surprise my wife took me to Des Plaines Hobbies. She never goes to the hobby store with me, but Saturday she took me to lunch and then to the hobby store. She bought me an Atlas GP38 in PC and an Intermountain F3 in B&A. It helped a lot that Des Plaines Hobbies was having a 33% off everything in the store sale . So now I have two new projects to add to my three that are on the bench now. Brian

My wife should buy me a bench to get my projects off of the dining room table Funny, I thought I was the only one doing that! LOL christian

I can't say "charm" had a whole lot to do with it. I shoulda never started, as I cook better than any of them (so they say). I only need someone to remind me when to change underwear.......

Happy Birthday Brian.
It only took me a few years to get my wife to get me anything train wise. She bought me a new P2k SD45 when they came out. When we bought this house I vowed that I would only do train stuff in the basement, thus far I have stuck to it. It helps that I put a TV down there!

Trains to my wife is completely unexplainable. She was dumbfounded to know that I could spend all day in a good hobby store . She could not understand it. BUT, I have to give her credit. She knows how much I enjoy it and allows me to play as much as I want. I have one little room in the basement that I am allowed to work in, but if we do keep the house I feel in the future I may spill out of that room and take over more of the basement . Brian

My wife used to chase trains with me before I developed diabetes. She follows along with my builds and always warns, "don't stab yourself!" when she sees the Exacto come out.
