Can anyone tell me when it was that FM started offering General Electric electrical systems as an option vs. the Westinghouse electricals that previously had been regularly offered? I know that the Virginian preferred the G.E. equipment but would like to knoa if other lines also specified such.

Not at all... it was all inside. The difference was more reliable operation as far as the electricals go but there was no way of identifying the electricals from the exterior.

Used Westinghouse on equipment built from 1944-1949, after 1949 FM came out with their own and offered Westinghouse too. In 1953 Westinghouse withdrew from the market and GE was offered as a alternative. Cutler-Hammer supplied some equipment on early units.
