What size(s) drill bit(s) are most common for handrail stanchions? The atlas sill has holes already but I will need to match holes in the railflyer parts. I will probably be using the SV stanchions.
More general what would be a good range of bits to have for detailing. I have no modelling drill bits at this time. Just getting back into the hobby after moving around the USA over the last 10 years.
And lastly, anyone have a favorite source for these? I know I used to break a lot of them in the past, but hopefully Im less clumsy now. Dont count on it though.
thanks in advance

Yup, agreed on the small drill index. Several companies make them. I have always used a smaller bit and then made them just a little bit smaller then the actual size to allow a tight fit.

I bought every drill bit size from 1/8" down to 0.0059". The ones I could not get at my local hobby store, I went to Ace Hardware. I then went to Small Parts Inc. to get the smaller bits.
I was tired of not haveing the correct size bits when I need them.

I'd suggest if you want to buy these - check the following: www.mcmaster.com/McMaster-Carr has EVERYTHING! - you want a variety of screws - this is the place to oreder them from - for about 12 dollars, I have enough small hobby screws to last a reallly long time. They sell all kinds of neat stuff - I could spend all day looking thru their online catalogue. Brian
