Very nice job. I love the Utah Railway and that color scheme. Love it! Thank you Anthony. This model began as an undec. Athearn SD-40 straight out of the box. I decided to use the Athearn cab and battery boxes, but I decided to change out the long hood end and all of the fans using Cannon parts. A lot of modelers are down on the old RPP shells that Athearn reworked, but locomotives like this one make very nice layout models that will eventually see a lot of operating time.

Nice work...........What did you use for the recorder cables? The speed recorders are made by Details West, part # 284.

Looks great to me. The Athearn SD-40s are the only game in town unless you include the IHC version.

For the DA ones you can use 0.010" brass wire for the cable, or if you have any of the lights that Athearn puts in its engines you can use a piece of it as the cable.
